The Ten Gods (十神) — Ten Kinds of Relationships

The ten gods are the core tool of Saju interpretation. They classify the relationships between different characters in the chart based on the day master (日干) — "yourself." Because the five elements come in yin-yang pairs, there are ten relationships total: your element (two options), elements you generate (two options), elements you overcome (two options), elements that overcome you (two options), and elements that generate you (two options). Seven killing (partial official) is powerful, sometimes harsh control: competitive environments, military, law. Well-controlled, it brings power and charisma; uncontrolled, stress and conflict.

True seal and partial seal generate you — governing mother, learning, protection, licenses, and documents. True seal is warm protection and classical learning: mother's love, degrees, licenses, formal education.
